The food business operator has to either apply for the registration or license to run a food business. This article will provide information as who will require registration certificate. The category of food business along with the qualifying norms based on production/turnover has been defined under Food Safety and Standards (Licensing & Registration) Regulations 2011.
The following table clearly explains the qualifying criteria of registration under FSS Act, 2006:

The following categories of businesses have been excluded from the registration criteria:
- 100% Export Oriented Units (Only eligible for Central License)
- Importers who are importing food items including the ingredients & additives (Only eligible for Central License)
- FBOs dealing with Non-Standardized products (Only eligible for Central License, may also have to go for the product approval)
- Caterer (Only eligible for License)

I am planning to start a food startup were initially we will be outsourcing the materials and repaking it in anantapur district of andhra pradesh, I read the FSSAI registration process, i would like to get a clarity on a couple of things:
1- We have not yet started , so how about the turn over section.
2- We are planning to launch a couple of products initially and after which we would increase the number of products based on market response, so here in application form B we can put a limited number of products , also if we launch new products what we need to do , can we keep in the same FSSAI registration name or anything else need to be done.
