Through a letter dated 5 February, 2018 the FSSAI had informed Commissioners of Food Safety of all States and UTs and Central Licensing Authority FSSAI about the system failure in the Food Licencing and Registration System (FLRS) for online licensing/registration. The FSSAI had also communicated that such FBOs whose license/registration had expired during the period of 15 December 2017 to 15 February, 2018 would be provided a temporary window to apply for renewal of their license/ registration.
Through a new order dated 19 February, 2018 the FSSAI has decided that an extended window will be provided to all FBOs till 31 March, 2018 if their licenses had expired and they were unable to renew them due to technical glitches in the FLRS system. FSSAI has decided to
- provide FBOs a window to renew their license/registration till 31 March, 2018 if it had expired between 15 December, 2017 and 15 February 2018 and they were unable to renew it due to FLRS system failure
- these FBOs will NOT be charged any penalty either as they were not at fault
However, if any FBO fails to submit their renewal for license or registration within the extended time period till 31 March, 2018 then such FBOs will not be able to apply for renewal. Instead they will have to submit a fresh application for license/ registration.
