The eligibility criteria for the application of obtaining a license under the Central Authority as per The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India was declared in the letter issued dated March 5, 2012. The following table was revised upon the suggestions of various stakeholders, explains the category of Food Business Activities covered under the Central License, as per the clarifications issued by the FSSAI office in a letter dated June 11, 2013.

Please note:
1. In case FBO is operating in two or more states, he/she has to obtain one additional Central License for Head Office/ Registered Office and separate license/registration for each location as per eligibility criteria for particular location as mentioned above either from State or Centre.
2. Each location will be issued separate license/registration (except transporter where one license/registration will be issued for all vehicle of single transporter)
