Flipkart Onboards 13,000 Kirana Stores in Eastern India
In view of the upcoming festive season, Flipkart has onboarded almost 13,000 kirana stores in the eastern region for faster deliveries. The kirana programme includes cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Silchar and Shillong and connects small retailers and consumers to digital commerce. Keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, the kiranas have been selected through an online application process.
Onboarding of kiranas is part of Flipkart’s programme to select 50,000 kiranas across the country for faster and personalised e-commerce experience. The programme is also part of the company’s efforts to drive growth for millions of small retailers across the country. This expansion programme also includes Flipkart Wholesale, a digital B2B marketplace which aims to connect local manufacturers and MSMEs with retailers and other businesses.
Timios Launches New ‘Timios Melts’ Variant
Timios, which is a packaged healthy snack brand for children, has launched new variants of its children’s finger food ‘Melts’. Timios has introduced new flavours like Banana & Strawberry and Blueberry which will cater to the increasing demand for Melts. The company has also introduced a value pack that comprises existing flavours of Apple & Cinnamon, Carrot & Cumin as well as for the newly introduced flavours. Timios products are age appropriate covering age ranges starting from 9 months to 12 years. Each product is made with 100 percent natural ingredients and contains zero preservatives.
In the last one year, Timios has served over two lakh customers. The products are available on their website, online platforms like Amazon, Bigbasket, Firstcry and Flipkart. The company also sells its products in over 350 organic stores and kids/baby stores. In addition to this, Timios has recently launched a WhatsApp store to sell directly to customers. Timios currently delivers in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Bonn Group Launches New Tiffin Cake Variants
The Bonn Group has recently added a new range of tiffin cakes to their cake portfolio. The new flavours of their moist and tender tiffin cakes include Orange, Chocolate and Classic. They will be available in Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. During the COVID-19 pandemic, comfort foods have been winning over customers because of their long shelf-life and relatively low pricing. Keeping in mind the consumers preferences, the Bonn Group has launched these cakes with their unique shape, taste and serving size. Wonderla Opens Food Outlet in Hyderabad
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced leading amusement park and hospitality brand, Wonderla Holidays Limited to foray into food takeaway and delivery business. The company recently launched its food takeaway and home delivery outlet at Hyderabad under the brand name ‘Wonder Kitchen.’ Since the amusement park has remained shut since March and the resort chain was also affected, Wonderla launched the first two Wonder Kitchen outlets in Bangalore and the third in Kochi. The Hyderabad outlets is the company’s fourth after it ventured into the food business in June.
Wonder Kitchen is a multi-cuisine cloud-kitchen, that serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and has also partnered with Swiggy and Zomato for online orders and home delivery apart from takeaway. Wonder Kitchens serves fresh and hygiene food as per the safety protocols as everyone is health-conscious and consumers demand safe and hygienic food, without having to give up on the taste of food. They are likely to open a second outlet in Hyderabad soon.
Burger Singh Inks Master Franchise deal in Gujarat
India’s favourite fusion burger brand, Burger Singh, has signed a master franchise deal in Gujarat. The master franchise and company will open 40 outlets within the next two years in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and other cities of the state. The 40 outlets will be a mix of dine-in and take away outlets along with some cloud kitchens. The master franchise will be seeking suitable sub-franchisees in the area. Since Gujarat has mainly vegetarian consumers, they plan to launch highly customized and specialized vegetarian burgers and foods in their outlets in Gujarat.

Lil’Goodness Launches India’s First Prebiotic Chocolate
Children’s food and nutrition band, ‘Lil’Goodness’ has launched India’s first ‘prebiotic’ chocolate. These first of a kind chocolates, with prebiotic fibres, will activate healthy bacteria in the gut and improve the absorption of essential vitamins and minerals. The brand targets millennial parents by providing fresh and packaged meal options integrated with technology to create awareness about healthy eating. The prebiotic chocolates contain 10% less sugar than regular milk chocolates and three times more fibre than regular milk chocolates.
The company has also introduced a dark chocolate variant. They will also launch four other flavours in this category soon. These chocolates will be the first of its kind in India and perhaps amongst the only two globally. With the festive season just round the corner, ‘Lil’Goodness’ has taken the opportunity introduce this healthy option so people can gift ‘goodness’ filled chocolates. The mini packs of the prebiotic chocolates are priced at Rs 20.
Kwality Foods Launches New Muesli Healthy Breakfast Range
Kwality Foods has launched its new range of healthy muesli which is based on recommendations of the Ministry of Ayush as preventive health measures and for boosting immunity. The recently launched unique muesli contains turmeric, honey and ginger while the other two variants have crunchy muesli with almonds, raisins and honey and muesli mixed fruit. All three variants have no added refined sugar coupled with the goodness and immunity-boosting capabilities of age-old ingredients and 100 per cent natural contents.
