REIL to Manufacture Milk Analyzers in India
A pact between Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd (REIL) and Bulgarian firm Milkotronic Ltd was signed at Hannover Messe, Germany for the manufacture milk analyzers in India. The analyzers are used to measure various parameters of milk such as fats, solids-not-fats (SNF) etc. REIL Director, A.K. Jain expressed that there was a need for reliable, dependable and affordable milk analyzers for measuring the various parameters of milk.
The Director of REIL indicated that in line with Prime Minister Modi’s “Make in India” campaign, these milk analyzers, which are currently being imported, would be manufactured in its Jaipur manufacturing unit and after sales service would also be provided.
Sanjeev Kapoor’s Startup to begin Operations Soon
The well-known celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor will soon be beginning his on mobile-first food startup. He has ambitious plans to take on food startups Foodpanda and Zomato. His startup will explore the untapped potential of the online food market. Kapoor’s startup will try to predict people’s tastes and then push name of restaurants and food varieties accordingly. His company is planned to be launched in Mumbai within the next six months.
Both Foodpanda and Zomato felt the need to get closer to the customer by online orders, payments and table reservations based on restaurant reviews. Kapoor adds that there is a need to generate transactions, since depending on only restaurant reviews was not a good idea. Kapoor is banking on his star chef status of Khana Khazana fame to launch his startup.
New HPMC Web Portal for Selling Fruits, Vegetables and Processed Foods
By the end of the current year, a new web portal for selling fruits, vegetables and 30 processed foods will be made available by the Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation Ltd. (HPMC), a Government of Himachal undertaking.
This new Rs. 10 crore project is HPMC’s latest venture to tap into the e-commerce area that is being promoted by the Government of India. This initiative will help to bring the farmers and the consumers on the same platform. Rs. 3.9 crore has already been provided by the Central Government to initiate the project. This initiative is likely to ensure deeper penetration into the market as well as interaction with big companies that might be interested in the state’s produce. The company is looking forward to promoting its online presence by tying-up with other big web portals in order to create a market for its wide range of products, including fruit drinks, concentrates, squashes, jams, juice, wine, nectar, ketchup and pickles.
Good news for weight watchers: Cocoberry introduces low-fat ice cream!
Cocoberry has announced the introduction of its low-fat ice cream in three delicious flavors – chocochip mousse, blackcurrant and toffee caramel crunch. The ice cream will be available in two sizes – 125ml and 500ml across all Chocoberry outlets, and later, will be available in other retail outlets also.
The ice cream was developed indigenously by the company itself. The product will complement Chocoberry’s other products, including desserts and yogurts. Since the market size is much more for ice creams, this latest product is likely to help the company scale greater heights. The ice cream is also quite cheap; at Rs. 35 per scoop, it’s cheaper than most other ice creams in its category.

Mad Over Donuts introduces its range of refreshing mango donuts and mango smoothies this summer, as part of its two-month long “Mango Festival”, a much-awaited annual event that the customers eagerly look forward to.
