ITC to Increase Footprint of E-store to 14 Cities
ITC Ltd is likely to double their e-store presence to 14 cities from their existing presence in seven cities. ITC is also making some consumer centric improvements like having an ITC store in dietary supplements. Speciality coffee brand, The Caffeine Baar is introducing ‘Elements 2021’ collection of coffee. This coffee collection will be made from the single-origin, high-grown Arabica coffee beans which will be procured from the 120-year-old Baarbara Estate in Chikmagalur. The speciality coffee collection is a result of varied experimentations, perfected over a period of time. The aroma and tastes have been amalgamated to give a whole new artisan coffee experience. The ‘Elements 2021’ collection of packaged coffee includes Carbonic Maceration, Anaerobic Fermentation, and Orange Fermentation and are priced at Rs 500 each.
Carbonic Maceration, includes a process in which the pulped coffee cherries are processed with carbon dioxide to induce bright, winey flavour notes. Anaerobic Fermentation, includes an interesting process, where the coffee cherries are processed in a fully sealed and oxygen-deprived fermentation tank, which is further slowly dried to attain ideal moisture content for nutty and sweet flavour notes. Orange Fermentation, is a fusion of coffee and orange where the pulped coffee is fermented with fresh orange.

Homegrown QSR Momo chain- ‘WOW! MOMO’ is all set to enter the packaged food category with ready-to-eat momos. The company is offering a variety of authentic flavours in the frozen ready-to-eat Momo category, such as Veg Darjeeling Momos, Chicken Darjeeling Momos, Masala Chicken Momos, Corn and Cheese Momos and Chicken Cheese momos.
The five flavours launched include both veg and non veg and are available in packs of tens and twenties.
The all-new category of ready-to-make frozen momos will be exclusively available online on Bigbasket in the following 10 cities: Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. ChickP Unveils Chickpea Isolate as Egg Replacement in Mayonnaise
Start-up, ChickP Ltd has unveiled its chickpea isolate which will be a plant-based alternative to be used in place of eggs in mayonnaise. The company is commercialising two different chickpea-sourced isolates, each designed to impart specific organoleptic qualities. ChickP has partnered with several companies to formulate egg-free recipes, which include a creamy mayonnaise substitute and salad-dressings. The pilot for the ChickP isolate as egg replacement for mayonnaise was quite successful, so the formulation is now being used for large scale production.
The isolate is 90% protein content and provides a holistic nutritional boost. It is proven to be an egg replacer for vegan food formulations in this category. Products crafted with the isolate have exhibited a long shelf life and good heat stability, making the ingredient suitable for dispersal into both hot and cold applications. Future Market insights anticipates the global egg replacement ingredient market will register a CAGR of 5.8% by 2026 reaching an estimated value of $1.5 billion as manufacturers meet consumer demands for vegan, vegetarian, and allergen-free products.
