Leo’s K’tchen Opens in the Queen of Suburbs – Bandra
Leo’s K’tchen, has opened an outlet in Bandra, the Queen of the Suburbs. It serves three of the most popular cuisines, North Indian, Chinese and Italian and boasts of over 200 dishes on its menu. Owned by Sharyar Jehani, the restaurant opens between noon and midnight. Belonging to a family or restaurateurs on both his paternal and maternal side and so he decided to carry forward his legacy in the restaurant business. His father is a partner in Leopold Café at Colaba and New York restaurant at Hughes Road and his maternal side own the Crown Bakery and Restaurant at Mahim. His has studied hospitality and entrepreneurship at Les Roches Switzerland.
Park Hyatt Hyderabad Partners with WaterHealth India
Park Hyatt Hyderabad has partnered with WaterHealth India to set up a water purification-cum-glass bottling unit at its premises. The state-of-the-art unit will provide purified IS: 10500 standard quality water in recyclable glass bottles to hotel guests. This initiative, a fully automatic and IoT (Internet of Things) enabled glass bottling-cum-purification unit is the first of its kind in India and is expected to reduce single-use plastic waste at the hotel. They wish to provide environmentally sustainable solutions while delivering the highest quality water. This partnership is a great example of WHI’s “water as a service” model that has revolutionised the drinking water markets in developing economies.
WaterHealth International is eliminating the need for single-use plastics through their innovative safe drinking water services. The automated bottling plant uses IoT-based technology to monitor key parameters like, cleanliness of water, pH and TDS of water, batch number, date of filling and so on. This technology also helps to predict plant maintenance frequency, thereby reducing the possibility of plant ‘down-time.’ The initiative will contribute to the environment by reducing carbon and fuel emissions and reducing plastic waste, but will also impact human health, as it will prevent millions of micro-plastics from leeching into the water.
BrewHouse Tea Brewing Co launches India’s First Certified Organic Ice Tea
BrewHouse Tea Brewing Co, that lays emphasis on being all-natural, has launched India’s first certified organic ready-to-drink ice tea. It is available in five flavours – Blueberry, Forest Berry, Mojito Lime, Classic Lemon and Classic Peach. The tea is real-brewed at the brewing facility of the company right before bottling and is not made from concentrate or tea powder. BrewHouse Organic Ice Teas contain no preservatives and have lower sugar content than most bottled beverages. Currently available only in glass bottles, the brand will soon roll out affordable variants, to cater to a larger market.
BrewHouse sources the tea leaves from small, independent tea farms in the Nilgiris and Assam, which focus on organic methods of cultivation. The farmers pick and roll the tea leaves by hand, which allows them to control the flavour and integrity of the tea to a far greater extent than in mechanised processes. The hand-made whole leaves are transported to BrewHouse production unit, where they are carefully brewed, in small batches by the brewers, who work round-the-clock making sure that every batch has the best flavour. The BrewHouse Organic Ice Teas will be available across all metros and Tier-I cities. The brand is also available on online platforms like Big Basket and GOQii and will be soon expanding to other online retailers. Established in the year 2017, the brand has recently been certified organic by USDA and India Organic.
Beam Suntory launches Oaksmith Whisky in India
Beam Suntory, the global premium spirits company, has launched a range of four premium spirits in India. Two variants of the product – Oaksmith and Oaksmith Gold – were launched in the state of Maharashtra recently and will soon be followed by a countrywide launch in due course. This whisky has been created by world-renowned blender Shinji Fukuyo, chief blender, Suntory, using traditional Japanese craftsmanship, blended with the finest Scotch malt whiskies and American Bourbons to make a whisky unique and authentic to Indian taste. Oaksmith Gold will be priced in the range of Rs 800 and Rs 1,300, while Oaksmith will be priced in the range of Rs 600 and Rs 900, depending upon the state of launch. Both the variants will be premium in their respective categories
Suntory has also launched three popular Japanese whiskies, ‘Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve’ ‘Hibiki Japanese Harmony’ and Roku Japanese Craft gin. Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve will be available in the range of Rs 10,900 and Rs 20,000 across different states; Hibiki Japanese Harmony in the range of Rs 10,900 and Rs 20,000, and Roku gin in the range of Rs 5,500 and Rs 7,100. The launch of these spirits in India is a part of Beam Suntory’s growth strategy and signifies the importance of India to the company. They are targeting a revenue of $ 1billion by 2030. The company is also committed to lead the growth and premiumisation of the Indian spirits market as appreciation for finely crafted spirits is growing among well-travelled Indians.
