Mangalore Gets Two McDonald’s Outlets
Recently two new McDonald’s restaurants have opened in Mangalore. With the opening of these restaurants, Hardcastle Restaurants Private Limited (HRPL), a Master Franchisee for West & South India operations of McDonald’s has increased the strength of their restaurants in south India to 74.
The restaurant at City Centre Mall seats 134 guests inside the restaurant and another 32 guests outdoors. The other is a 3500 sq. ft restaurant known as McDonald’s Forum Fiza Mall. The restaurants will each have a team of 50 employees to manage operations in the initial phase.
The new menu caters to Indian tastes and has food selections that are flavoured with spices.
McDonald’s operations include; standalone restaurants, drive-thru’s, 24/7, McDelivery, Web and Mobile ordering, breakfasts and dessert Kiosks. They employ more than 2500 personnel in South India and create job opportunities for first time job seekers.
Westward Expansion for Dunkin’ Donuts
With the opening of their outlet in Ahmedabad, Dunkin’ Donuts has taken their expansion plans in western India a step further. The Ahmadabad outlet is the 44th Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in India. They have other outlets in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.
Dunkin’ Donuts is the world’s leading chain that serves doughnuts, baked goods and coffee. Jubilant FoodWorks Limited feels that their connection with the young adult consumer will help them further in their expansion plans in India.
2015 Will see Further Expansion of Bikanervala Across India
On December 18, 2014 Bikanervala opened its 55th chain at Jaipuria Mall in Ghaziabad. This brings up the count of their outlets in Uttar Pradesh to 15. The food chain serves typical Indian snacks and quick meals that are based on regional cuisines. They have outlets in Nepal, UAE and New Zealand besides having a pan Indian presence.
Bikanervala is an ISO 22000:2005, HACCP and SQF2000CM certifications. It also exports food products under the label of the Bikano brand. The brands USP is to promote Indian culture and cuisine all over the globe.
Australia’s Gloria Jean’s Coffee ends India franchise with Landmark Group
Citymax Hospitality is the Indian hospitality face of Dubai based retail giant Landmark Group. Citymax Hospitality was forced to close down several Australian Gloria Jean’s Coffees outlets as they were unable to sustain operations because of stiff competition from Coffee Café Day and Tata Starbucks.
The franchise partnership that began in 2008 has now come to an end. Out of the 27 Gloria Jean’s Coffees outlets 10 have been closed down and the remaining 17 outlets with Citymax have begun operations under the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts brand. There are 11 outlets in Bangalore, five in Mumbai and one in Chennai operating under this banner now.
According to their franchise agreement with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. Citymax Hotels will need to develop 80 Krispy Kreme outlets in south and west India in the next five years beginning 2012. Landmark’s other retail ventures in India include the ‘Lifestyle’ department stores, ‘Max’ apparel store and ‘Home Centres’ selling furnishings.
