Dabur Launches Ready-to-Drink Mocktails
FMCG major, Dabur India is expanding its packaged fruit drinks range and has launched new variants under the Réal brand. The new packaged fruit based drink will be the first ready-to-drink mocktails in India. The mocktails have been specially crafted by professional mixologists. The Réal Mocktails will be available in two variants Virgin Mary and Virgin Pina Colada and will be available in one-liter Tetrapaks at a price of Rs.110. Dabur has worked on the mocktails so that consumers can have the same mocktail experience at home which otherwise is only available in restaurants and bars. Réal Mocktails will provide a hassle-free ready-to-serve option at social gatherings and for all occasions.
Réal Mocktails do not have any added preservatives and have been prepared by experts with the right ingredients and mix. They hope that the launch of Réal Mocktails drinks in India will create more excitement in the market. Dabur is the pioneer in the packaged juice market in India and the launch of Real Mocktails is another first for the company. Dabur has been expanding its packaged fruit juice range based on their understanding of Indian consumers and so have launched products like Mausambi juice under the Réal brand and Jamun and Amla under the Réal Wellness brand and now Réal Mocktails.
Britannia Launches Premium Biscuit – Pure Magic Deuce
Britannia Industries Ltd has launched its super-premium biscuit called Pure Magic Deuce. It marks the company’s foray into bridge products which is a lucrative and fast-growing segment of foods. Pure Magic Deuce consists of a dark, crispy biscuit with a slab of luxurious chocolate. Pure Magic Deuce comes in two variants, Milk Choco and White Choco and is available in a 60g pack containing six biscuits. This is Britannia’s first innovation in the biscuit category in eight years. The product has been developed over the last one-and-a-half years in the company’s R&D center. Danish technology has been used to manufacture the product. Pure Magic Deuce has been created keeping in mind the young consumers who want to indulge in a rich snacking experience. The special format of a slab of chocolate on a dark, crispy biscuit is being termed as a disruptive innovation. The product is currently available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Pune.
Teesta River Tea Launches new Lounge Tea
Teesta River Tea is a Bengaluru based start-up that has launched its tea products through the online platform Amazon as well across selected supermarkets in South India. Teesta River Tea differs from other brands because of the fine silken pyramid tea bags that preserve the aroma and flavor of its ingredients. Teesta High Range Tips is blended of superfine Darjeeling and Nepal Himalayan teas with a strong Darjeeling flavor. Teesta Premium CTC teas are a blend of Assam classic teas with Dooars that provide tasty and strong teas to start a refreshing day.
Teesta teas are refreshing because they get fresh tea from the bushes to packaging within 15 days, unlike other teas that can take up to three months. Since they have no middlemen, the garden fresh teas are delivered for blending and tasting from the tea estates in a week. Teesta Beverages with its continuous innovation in tea blending, superfruits, and herbs have already created a presence on Amazon. The promoters hope to see the brand both online and offline in domestic and International markets. FreshMenu Launches FreshClub Membership
FreshMenu.com which is an online kitchen and delivery platform has launched a membership programme called ‘FreshClub’. Members will be able to enjoy benefits like early access to exclusive dishes, free shipping, and discounted prices on most products. Customers will also get a free 15-day trial period to experience FreshClub, after which they can continue the membership for a price of Rs.99 for three months. The idea of memberships is not new, but since FreshMenu controls the entire supply chain they are positioned to offer other unique benefits in the future. FreshMenu calls itself an online restaurant that serves freshly-made, chef-cooked gourmet meals in a box. FreshMenu started in Bengaluru and has expanded its services to Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. It was founded in 2014 by IIM Ahmedabad alumni, Rashmi Daga.
Food Processing Sector gets $ 6492.19 million FDI
According to the data shared in parliament by Minister of State for Food Processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Indian food processing sector has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) $ 6492.19 million during 2010-11 to 2016-17. The government has allowed 100% FDI in food processing industries through the automatic route. As per a survey conducted by Central Statistics Office, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, in 2014-15 the total capital invested by the registered food processing units was Rs.368, 43, 371 lakhs. The maximum capital in the food processing industries was invested in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. Also, the number of registered food processing units has increased from 35,838 in 2010 -11 to 38,603 in 2014-15.
