Shiv Sagar; Latest Food Haunt in Delhi
Foodies of Delhi have got a new haunt-Shiv Sagar restaurant, a renowned Mumbai-based brand which opened its first outlet at Connaught Place, New Delhi recently. This launch takes brand’s count to 23. It is present in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and now in New Delhi.
Brand’s Franchisee, Eatbud Food Private Limited, at 52 Janpath, New Delhi promoted by Vidur Kanodia. Vidur, shares, “Our brand of eclectic food fits into a niche market which we have not yet seen in Delhi. We are looking at the average Delhi foodie and have distinctive vegetarian dishes to satisfy everybody’s palate at reasonable prices. We will also deliver our delectable dishes to our customers at their homes at no additional charge.”
Brand’s signature meal is pav-bhaji, vada pav and special masala juices. The chain of sit down quick-service vegetarian restaurant operates between 11 am to midnight, all seven days of the week. Shiv Sagar, is a brand founded and promoted by late Shankar Rama Pooja.
Khyber to Have Pan India Presence
Khyber a Mumbai based, fine and casual dining restaurant has engaged Francorp to fine tune its expansion plans. Francorp feels that the latest trends in the hotel industry and growth in tourism has opened wide the doors for restaurants in India. Francorp will explore and capitalize on this trend to give Khyber a pan India presence and also increase the franchise network in a significant way.
Khyber is a fine and casual dining restaurant that specialises in Mughlai and North Indian cuisines. Khyber is aiming to attract the urban Indian segment that has a desire for authentic Indian cuisine. Indian music composed of Thumris and ghazals played in the Khyber restaurants adds much to the flavour of the delectable dishes.
Jumbo King Expansion Plans
With already 38 outlets in Mumbai Jumbo King, a branded chain of ‘vada paav,’ hopes to increase their count to 100 in Mumbai. Their expansion plan entails a mix of franchisee and company owned outlets. They already have nine outlets in Ahmedabad and Baroda but hope to expand across India once they have completed the run of 100 outlets in Mumbai.
Fazlani Exports Pvt. Ltd to Build Dedicated Facility
Fazlani Exports Pvt. Ltd, an HACCP & ISO 22000:2005 certified company is part of the flower cultivation and tobacco Sopariwala Group. Fazlani Exports Pvt. Ltd is all set to invest Rs 75 million in a state of the art facility. This facility will ensure that the entire packaging process of their products is monitored in house. Their range of products includes spices, sesame seeds, ready-to-eat vegetable curries, seafood curries, rice, pickles, chutneys, cooking pastes and sweets based on traditional Indian recipes made from natural ingredients and spices which sell under the brand name Fazlani Foods.
Indian Wafer Maker Balaji to Offload Stake
Having successfully stood tall against competition from PepsiCo’s Lays and ITC’s Bingo, Balaji Wafers is all set to offload 10% stake to raise Rs.400crore and enter the capital market. At the same time the company is ready to launch ‘French Fries’ by May 2015.
Later in October 2015, it will launch new products in the snacks category. The products would be potato specialties with Indinaised innovations. Balaji will enter the new segment through a joint venture between Bajaj Wafers, SP Chips Potato Pvt. Ltd and Iscon Balaji Foods, which currently manufactures ready-to-cook potato flakes at its plant located in Gujarat.
