In compliance with recent directives from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), laboratories authorized for testing Fortified Rice (FR), Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK), and Vitamin Premix for FRK are required to incorporate QR codes on their test reports. This initiative, outlined in various official orders, aims to enhance transparency and accessibility.
Following orders dated October 31, 2023, November 8, 2023, and November 16, 2023, FSSAI-approved labs must upload test reports on the INFoLNET and FoSCoS portals. The QR codes on these reports can be scanned using any QR scanning application, allowing easy online verification. The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) also highlighted this requirement in a communication on May 18, 2021.
This move, approved by the Competent Authority and digitally signed by Sweaty Behara on December 13, 2023, reinforces the commitment to ensuring the authenticity and accessibility of test reports in the fortified rice testing process.
