No food business can be run without license or registration under Food Safety and Standards Act

No Food Business can be run without obtaining a license or registration certificate from the State Govt. food safety department or Central Govt. Food Safety Licensing Office depending upon the nature of the food business and production capacity/Annual turnover of the food business.

All the Food Business Operators in the country who have obtained license under any of the above food laws that have been replaced now have to get their licenses converted in to Food Safety License or Registration from the concerned department on or before 4^th February 2013.

For the Food Business Operators in Delhi, the position is different, as the licenses under PFA Act & rules were not being issued. Those Food Business Operators who were supposed to obtain licenses under PFA Act in Delhi will have to apply for fresh licenses to  Central Govt.Food Safety Licensing Office immediately or to the Delhi State Food Safety Department as the case may be as and when Delhi Govt. Food Safety Department Starts licensing

Those who have to start their new food business or doing their business and did not obtain  license under any of the above mentioned food laws they have to apply for fresh license along with the relevant documents, certificates and analysis reports.
