The new Food Safety and Standards Act shifts from mere regulatory regime to self-compliance through Food Safety Management System. Under the new Act the Food Business Operators have to ensure that food processed, manufactured, imported or distributed is in compliance with the food laws.
No food business can be run without license or registration under Food Safety and Standards Act
No Food Business can be run without obtaining a license or registration certificate from the State Govt. food safety department or Central Govt. Food Safety Licensing Office depending upon the nature of the food business and production capacity/Annual turnover of the food business.
