Auriga Research Pvt Ltd has been empanelled as a Training Partner for Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC). FoSTaC provides training programmes in food safety and standards for persons who are or intend to become involved in the food business, whether as food business operators or employees or otherwise.
The FSSAI in its 24th Meeting had approved in principle the guidelines of Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) that envisages that all food businesses having either Central License or State License should have at least one trained and certified “Food Safety Supervisor” for every 25 food handlers in each of their premises. The supervisors would carry out periodic training of all food handlers in the premises and maintain records of food safety audit and inspections. Accordingly, Auriga will provide this training for the Food Safety Supervisor certification.
The FSSAI had initiated the Food Safety Training and Certification programme in July 2017. This was made with the intention of creating a pool of food safety supervisors who are trained in good hygiene and manufacturing practices as per requirements of Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation 2011. The FSSAI advises all licensed Food Business Operators to nominate at least one Food Safety Supervisor to train at least 25 food handlers on their premises through the training programme empanelled for the purpose.
The FoSTaC trainings are expected to bring in a culture of self-compliance on food safety measures amongst the food business and raise the bar for food safety and hygiene in the country. To address the training needs for all types of food businesses at various levels in the food system, a number of courses at three levels; basic, advanced, special have been developed. These courses are currently delivered through a network of FSSAI Training Partners that have been empanelled by FSSAI.

Auriga Research Pvt Ltd has been empanelled as a Training Partner for FoSTaC as they have the capacity to impart training in food safety. Auriga Research is involved in Testing, Training, and Inspection & Certification activities. Auriga Research is recognized for its quality services and commitment.
It is the responsibility of the regulatory body as well as food business operators to ensure safety and hygiene standards of their premises and workers as specified in Schedule 4 for different categories of food businesses. To achieve the same, it is required to consistently train workers in the food ecosystem responsible for maintaining hygiene of all workers as well as premise. As FoSTaC partners Auriga Research’s training services will be utilised to deliver training to Food Safety Supervisors in food hygiene and sanitation as outlined in Section 4. The Food Safety Supervisor certification programme will be conducted for various courses that will be delivered in face-to-face class room trainings either in the premise of food businesses (in-house training) or in the premises provided by training partners (open class). Further, courses are also being adapted in the form of audio visuals and online programmes for greater outreach.
