FSSAI has issued a draft amendment regulation dated 6 September, 2021 to be called the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2021 relating to the warning on the label of Pan Masala Products and nomenclature of various bread. FSSAI has also invited objections and suggestions, if any, which must be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Food and Drug Administration Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi – 110002 in the format provided in this link

Objections and suggestions may also be emailed to regulation@fssai.gov.in within 60 days from uploading of draft notification and they will be taken into consideration by the FSSAI.
Draft Regulations
These regulations may be called the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2021. Amendments are proposed to be have made in the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020
Amendments in In Schedule II, Mandatory Declarations:
- Amendments n Sub-Regulation (3) related to Pan Masala
(3) Every package containing the following articles of food and advertisement relating thereto shall carry the warning and/or declaration, in a rectangular box namely: –
- Amendment in Schedule-II, in Regulation 2. Specific requirements/ restrictions on manner of labelling.
New sub-regulation related to various breads is proposed to be included in the above- mentioned schedule which is as follows
“2.6 Labelling of various types of bread
The nomenclature of various breads mentioned in column (2) shall comply with requirements mentioned in columns (3) & (4) of the table below:
