ITC Launches New Sunfeast Marie Light Vita
ITC’s Foods Division has introduced a new milkier and crispier Sunfeast Marie Light Vita in the Odisha, Maharashtra and Southern markets. The new milky Sunfeast Marie Light Vita is delicious and will suit the taste buds of everyone in the family and children will love to dip it in milk. Sunfeast Marie Light Vita also comes with a unique stay-fresh pack as it has two individual inner packs inside one outer pack. This prevents biscuit breakage, convenient storage and keeps the product fresh for a long time even after the seal of the outer pack is broken.
The company has signed popular Odia actors Archita Sahu and Sabyasachi Mishra as the brand ambassadors for Marie Light Vita. During the recent Rath Yatra, Sunfeast also had a festive frolic at the Puri beach where consumers got a first -hand experience of the new Marie Light Vita. The consumers tasted the brand new Sunfeast Marie Light Vita with teas from different parts of the country, including Kerala, Assam, Darjeeling and the Nilgiris. The product will be available at modern and general trade outlets across Odisha in a convenient pack size of 300g, priced at Rs.38.
Drunken Monkey Aims for 10,000 Outlets by 2025
Drunken Monkey that has smoothie outlets opened its first outlet in February 2016 and today they are eyeing revenues of Rs.115 crore this fiscal. Drunken Monkey currently has 60 outlets in 16 Indian cities and the brand is planning to spend Rs.50 crore on expansion plans. The market for smoothies is hugely untapped and the potential for growth is immense. Drunken Monkey has a great first mover’s advantage by being the pioneers in the smoothie industry in India. Drunken Monkey offers over 170 types of smoothies made from locally sourced, natural ingredients, ranging from indulgence to detox, and more. The brand uses pure natural fresh fruit, no artificial flavours, no added sugar, preservatives or concentrates.
Drunken Monkey has an operating model which is mostly FOFO – franchise owned and franchise operated. The training, supply or raw materials and back-end support are taken care of by the brand while the front-end operations are taken care of by the franchise. However, there is a small percentage of outlets which are COCO – company owned and company operated. They have two model outlets a cafe sit in the model (600 to 1, 300 sq. ft.) or a kiosk take-away model (100 to 200 sq.ft.) which are usually located on the high-streets of the city and in malls. In future Drunken Monkey could get into supermarkets or places where people can pick up smoothies by themselves and have smoothies with better shelf life, where they can be kept fresh for more time.
Sula Selections Launch Beluga Cocktail Masters India
Sula Selections have launched the Beluga Cocktail Masters India 2018 in association with Beluga Noble Russian Vodka, the world’s most popular Russian vodka. Sula Selections is the import arm of Sula Vineyards and one of India’s leading wine and spirit importers. Sula Selections comprises an extensive list of leading and notable wine and spirits brands from across the globe. Beluga Vodka was launched in 2009 and immediately gained a reputation as a fresh and crisp Vodka, which was exceptionally pure with a little bit of grain flavour.
Sula Sections is hosting the Sula bartender masterclasses led by Agostino Schiavo, the well –known mixologist. At these sessions to be held in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai 150 bartenders from across the country will try to put together interesting cocktails made with Beluga. The first challenge entails making their original unique cocktail with Beluga Vodka, and the final challenge will be a mystery box, consisting of ingredients that the bartenders will have to use with Beluga Vodka to make a brand new cocktail on the spot. The Beluga Cocktail India champion will win an all-inclusive weekend trip to Moscow. Post the masterclasses, 20 of the 50 bartenders in each city will be selected to promote Beluga in a personal capacity and using their social media platforms.
Indian and Swedish Food at IKEA to Recharge Shoppers’ Energy
IKEA’s first Indian stored opened recently at Hyderabad with a massive range of 7,500 world class products. There were products that were priced below Rs.200, and that is what will draw shoppers to the store. Over 40,000 customers visited the IKEA store on the first day. The company expects at least 60 lakh footfalls annually at the store, which has come up with an investment of Rs.1,000 crore in the heart of HITEC City. IKEA plans to open 25 stores across India by 2025 and the next store will open in Mumbai next year followed by Bengaluru and Delhi.
However, since the store is massive IKEA has also one of the largest store restaurants where shoppers can refresh themselves. The restaurant has Indian food on half its menu and the other half is Swedish food a strategy which is in line with the company’s global practice. At the India store, chicken meatballs have replaced beef meatballs, a popular dish on IKEA’s menu globally. It has also dropped pork from the menu for India. The menu includes vegetable biryani, salmon fillet, dal makhni, cakes, green salad, fruit salad, cinnamon buns and a variety of beverages. The Swedish dishes include chicken meatballs, salmon fillet, lingonberry juice and cinnamon buns. Like its home furnishing products, IKEA is also offering a menu to suit all sizes of wallets. Vegetable biryani is priced at Rs.99, chicken meatballs at Rs.149 and veggie balls at Rs 129.
IFFCO to Foray into Food Processing Sector
Fertiliser major IFFCO has announced the joint venture with Spain’s Congelados De Navarra to set up a Greenfield food processing plant at Ludhiana in Punjab with an investment of Rs.325 crore. This will be IFFCO’s foray into food processing sector where IFFCO will have 30 percent stake while Congelados De Navarra will have the remaining 70 percent stake.IFFCO has identified the land for the plant and the foundation stone for the plant would be laid in December. The plant would be completed in about 18 months. Congelados De Navarra is a US $220 million company that has pioneered the individually quick frozen (IQF) technology. It is into the processing of vegetables, fruits, herbs and ready-made pre-cooked dishes. The proposed plant at Ludhiana will source produce like potatoes, peas, and cauliflower from farmers and then process them for sale in domestic and exports market.
IFFCO has always taken steps to enhance the life and income of farmers and so setting up a processing plant for the benefit of the farmers is a logical step. All their schemes are it fertilisers, insurance, agri-chemicals, farm forestry, agri-retail, rural telecom, farmers training have been directed at farmers. The new facility would generate 400 direct and 5,000 indirect local jobs in Punjab besides adding to farmers’ income. Recently IFFCO has also partnered with Singapore-based technology firm iMandi to start an e-commerce platform for farmers with an investment of about Rs.80 crore.
