Jubilant FoodWorks Forays into FMCG with ChefBoss
The master franchisee of Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts, Jubilant FoodWorks has forayed into the ready-to-cook segment with the launch of a new brand of sauces, gravies and pastes called ‘ChefBoss’. The eight different sauces and pastes can be used with Indian and Chinese cuisines, such as Hyderabadi Biryani paste, Lucknowi Biryani paste, Makhani gravy and Bhuna gravy. Manchurian cooking sauce and Schezwan cooking sauce, Hot Garlic cooking sauce and Honey Chilli stir fry sauce and dip will augment Chinese foods. The launch targets modern Indian consumers who enjoy trying different cuisines at home.
ChefBoss range will be available to consumers exclusively through e-commerce portals. The online sale of products is to begin with Amazon and be available nationally. Flipkart Supermart will make products available in NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore and Milkbasket in NCR. The brand plans to expand its product availability by adding more e-commerce platforms, as well as retailing through supermarkets and hypermarkets in the near future. The product range comes in convenient sizes of 150gm to 200gm and is competitively priced between Rs 75 and Rs 100 per pack.
Surya Concepts Launches Surya at Home Range of Products
Surya Concepts is a vegan catering and take-away located in New Delhi. Mitsui Opens First CoCo Ichibanya Japanese Curry Chain Restaurant in India
Mitsui & Co has opened its first local branch of CoCo Ichibanya at the DLF Cyber Hub in Gurugram, Haryana. CoCo Ichibanya is the world’s largest chain of Japanese-style curry restaurants. It operates close to 1,300 outlets in Japan and another 185 restaurants across the US, the UK, China, and Southeast Asia. In the next 10 years Ichibanya India will progressively open directly owned or franchised outlets in Delhi and other tier-one cities to build a chain of 30 restaurants across the country. Mitsui is seeking to diversify into the consumer domain and establish businesses with direct consumer touch points.
Ichibanya India is a joint venture between Mitsui with 60 per cent equity share and Ichibanya Co. Ltd which has 40 per cent equity share. This partnership marks the Mitsui brand’s entry into the restaurant business in India. Ichibanya India is looking forward to introducing Japan’s unique take on traditional cuisine in India which has its own varied curries. At CoCo Ichibanya restaurants, customers will be able to personalise their own meals with choices of different toppings, spice levels and portion sizes. To comply with the government’s social distancing measures, seating capacity will be limited to 50 per cent during the opening. Home delivery will be available through Zomato and Swiggy.
Coke Enters Nascent Immunity-boosting Beverage Category
Coca-Cola India has launched two new brands to enter the very new immunity-boosting beverages category in India. Coca Cola India has introduced the two beverages under its Minute Maid brand and will be called Minute Maid Nutriforce and Minute Maid Vita Punch. The two new beverages claim to deliver some of the daily essential nutrition requirements, extracted from fruits. Besides being introduced in the growing category of immunity beverages, the new products are also in line with Coca Cola India’s strategy to offer more fruit-based beverages. This is in line with consumer preferences and is also more localised in keeping with their ‘Fruit Circular Economy’ initiative which enables farmers to increase their yield of fruits which are sourced for fruit-based beverages.
Fat Tiger Unveils New Outlet in Kolkata
Fat Tiger India, a brand based in Delhi, has launched its first outlet at South City Mall, Kolkata. The brand is aiming to expand to 25 outlets by the end of 2021 and 50 by 2022. Fat Tiger operates on multiple models like restaurant kiosk/cart and food court. Fat Tiger was founded by Sohrab Sitaram, who is also the founder of Keventers, the milkshake brand.
Fat Tiger serves mainly teas, momos and meals. The teas called Cheezo’s are unique as it is iced tea served with cheese on top. They also have bubble teas which are made with boba pearl. The momo varieties include ordinary momos, whole-wheat momos, Italian momos, Kurkure momos, Baozi’s, Shogo Momo’s, and Xialong Bao soupy momos. They serve bowl meals of rice and noodles along with sides. They serve products in disposable classical packaging and follow the best level of safety and hygiene be it in the form of temperature checks, processing everything in RO water and zero usage of MSG.
Jiva Ayurveda Launches Nutritious A2 Ghee
Jiva Ayurveda has introduced A2 ghee which is made using the nutrient-preserving ‘Bilona Churning Process’. This churning process, which is bidirectional enhances medicinal properties of ghee. According to the company the new product is made from the highest quality A2 milk of Gir cows. The A2 ghee is a source of healthy amino acids, various vitamins and Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty-acids, which are beneficial in making the brain, heart, nervous system and eyes healthier. The product also has essential macro and micro nutrients that fulfil the daily dietary requirement of the body and provide rejuvenation support for better cognitive and neurological functions. The ghee will be available at all leading stores and online from the Jiva Ayurveda website. It comes in packs of 300ml and 1,000ml for Rs 725 and Rs 1,999 respectively.
