About Biodiesel
Making Biodiesel has become popular in recent times because it uses renewal resources and benefits environment. Used cooking oil which is no longer usable is usually dumped in landfills leading to environmental pollution. In the frying process, the cooking oil undergoes reactions leading to the formation undesirable compounds such as polymers and free fatty acids. It is important to prevent dumping of such types of used cooking oils or utilise them alternatively because of the negative impacts they have on the environment. Therefore, transforming the used cooking oil into biodiesel provides an alternative fuel which can be used in diesel vehicles.
