The FSSAI has issued a public notice dated 12 October 2020, regarding the launch of the second phase of FoSCoS in the remaining 27 States/UTs. The first phase of the FoSCoS was launched on 28 May 2020.
The first phase of the Food Safety Compliance System FoSCoS (https://foscos.fssai.gov.in) was launched in 9 States/UTs namely Delhi, Tamil Nadu. Gujarat. Odisha, Goa, Manipur, Puducherry, Chandigarh and Ladakh to replace the existing Food Licensing and Registration System with effect from 1 June 2020. The various issues, suggestions and feedback received from the field have been examined by the FSSAI and incorporated to make the system more robust.
Through this public notice the FSSAI wishes to inform all that the launch of the second phase of FoSCoS in the remaining 27 States and UTs is planned on 1 November 2020, and to enable the same the FLRS shall be closed for these 27 States and UTs with effect from 21 October 2020 by 11:00 PM.
Resource materials such as User Manuals, Video Tutorials, Flyer on Key Features, Guidance Document and Presentations for training have been made available under the user manual section of the Homepage https://foscos.fssai.gov.in/user-manual. FAQs, Migration Strategy adopted, SOPs and other key orders have been made available on the Homepage itself. Further users of the system may acquaint themselves with the features of FoSCoS through the demo version https://fcstraining.fssai.gov.in.
In view of the above, the FSSAI has advised that users of the system of the remaining 27 States/ UTs may complete their pending tasks related to FSSAI licensing and registration on FLRS by 21 October 2020 as the online system may not be available for next 10 days. FoSCoS will remain operational in the 9 States/UTs where it is already operational. As mentioned above the FoSCoS https://foscos.fssai.gove.in will be made live in remaining 27 States/UTs with the migrated data on or before 1 November 2020.
The Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS- https://foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in) will be again made live on 22 October 2020, only for the purpose of licensing and registration pertaining to Indian Railways and handling consumer grievances filed till date. A new version of the Food Safety Connect (Consumer Grievance) portal will be made live with FoSCoS) on or before 1 November 2020.
